- Footage at the start is GREAT but unfortunately all footage included in your film project has to be your own. This would need to come out and either be taken out completely, starting at the film logo or it could be an establishing shot.
- The breathing works later on in the story… after the girls have begun hiding. The shot of the girls talking about hiding doesn’t feel like someone watching them, the breathing here is a bit distracting from some key dialogue. I would take this out completely
- I suggest adding in a sound effect to really accentuate what’s happening when the figure appears behind the vulnerable character. That moment needs more impactful sound.
Overall a very successful thriller opening. I enjoyed the location although feel like there could have been more of a variety of camera shots, especially to enhance the dialogue when the girls are sitting in the circle. Use of close-up’s / mid-shots to help us as the audience not only hear what they’re saying but seeing their faces with over the shoulder shots, etc, would have been better. Location is great, sound is much better and text effects worked well although it would have been good to have that slightly bigger and staying on the screen slightly longer for audience to read. Good job with the actors in this film opening, the ‘selfie style’ camera shots added a nice realistic touch to your film and really helped capture the worried and anxious looks on the girls faces. Shooting in the dark is tricky at the best of times. It was great to see you being creative with how you worked that out. Unfortunately some scenes were still a bit dark for viewers to fully grasp the setting and camera-shot-wise, it would have been great to have gotten some more ‘POV’ shots from the perspective of someone watching the girls.
Overall, a much more sophisticated media product than PT 1 and 2. Well done.
